How do we make perfumes?

Classic production technology

Thanks to the traditional sequence of maceration, freezing and filtration, the perfumes gain appropriate intensity, clarity and fullness.

Several weeks of maturation allow the perfumes to develop their true scent, freezing ensures maximum clarity and stability, and filtration removes impurities and substances insoluble in alcohol to preserve the composition's purity.

It's an artisanal process that enhances the quality and longevity of the composition.

Maceration

Weeks of aging the mixture of alcohol and oils allows the fragrance molecules to blend evenly, creating a cohesive, deep composition.

It is then that the bouquet gains softness and harmony.

Freezing

Cooling the macerate precipitates waxes, pigments and heavier fractions, making the liquid crystal clear.

This treatment also improves color stability and the stability of the composition itself.

Filtering

The chilled concentrate passes through fine filters that retain all sediment and cloudiness.

The result is a perfectly clear liquid, ready for bottling.

What does it mean when a perfume has 20% perfume concentration?

This means that 20% of the volume consists of concentrated fragrance oils. Such a high concentration classifies the blend as full-fledged perfume, making the scent intense and long-lasting on the skin for many hours.

What is scent architecture?

Perfumes are usually composed of three distinct parts, which we call the top note, the heart note, and the base note.

Top note opens the composition. It is the most shimmering and fleeting part, but it is what determines the first impression you get when you smell a fragrance. It lasts briefly, from a few to several dozen minutes.

Heart note reveals itself about 20–30 minutes after applying the perfume and resonates for several hours. It is what determines the fragrance family.

Base note is the most lasting and longest-resonating. It forms the background of the composition and can be noticeable even for many hours after spraying the fragrance.

What is fragrance projection?

This is the spatial development of a fragrance. It can be subtle, which means the scent creates an aura close to the skin, or intense and strong — then the notes "spread out", creating a scent trail.

For work or school, fragrances with moderate projection are appropriate. Wherever you want to stand out, fragrances with strong projection are recommended.

What are the advantages of traditional manufacturing technology?

It consists of three stages:

Maceration, meaning the maturation of the composition. It can last several weeks. It is necessary to achieve the fullness of the fragrance.

Freezing, which achieves maximum clarity and stability of the perfume.

Filtering, involving the careful removal of impurities and substances insoluble in alcohol. It is needed to obtain the highest purity of the scent.

What does a certificate of authenticity provide?

The document confirms that original fragrance oils from Grasse, France — the world capital of the perfumery industry — were used in production.

Our fragrances are composed in one of the oldest and most respected French perfumery workshops, which creates scents in the style of the 18th century.
